Randy Calvert has been recognized for showing dedication, leadership, and excellence in business and commercial litigation. Mr. Calvert is a commercial trial lawyer with over 30 years of experience handling complex high-stakes disputes. He has tried high-stakes cases in multiple states. He is admitted to practice in Oklahoma, Texas, and Colorado.

In 2008, Lawyers USA recognized Mr. Calvert’s jury verdict in Hebble v Shell as the 8th most significant verdict in the United States. He collected the largest punitive damage award in Oklahoma history in 2010. His efforts to protect oil and gas royalty owners resulted in an expansion of the duties oil companies owed to royalty owners. He has consistently held the highest peer review rating from his fellow lawyers. He has been named an Oklahoma Super Lawyer every year from 2009 to 2024, and Oklahoma Magazine named him Best Attorney in Oklahoma City.

Calvert Law Firm was founded in 1990 to provide the highest level of expert counsel and aggressive representation to those we serve. Our firm has extensive experience in complex litigation. We prepare every case for trial; the only way to obtain a good result is to prepare for trial, whether the result is a jury verdict or a satisfactory settlement. Preparation is the key to victory. Mr. Calvert has 35 years of experience and has secured more than $100 million in verdicts for his clients.

Calvert Law Firm maintains referral relationships with top attorneys nationwide. We regularly receive case referrals from some of Oklahoma’s largest law firms and litigation boutiques that know Calvert Law Firm’s work and trust the firm with important matters. We are available as lead trial counsel or to consult on your case. Our lawyers have the skill and experience to predict the actions of the opposition while implementing strategies to maximize our client’s success. We have the experience and resources to help you maximize recovery.

Mr. Calvert’s experience as a Certified Public Accountant and management consultant and significant business experience lets him quickly get up to speed on complex business and financial cases. His background in corporate law gives him the perspective to effectively advise clients about when to pursue traditional litigation and when to choose more affordable alternative dispute resolution methods. While he has years of experience in traditional litigation, he is also skilled in arbitration and negotiation outside of the courtroom.

Our uncommon representation yields extraordinary results. Our lawyers have obtained record-setting multi-million verdicts. Through tenacity and fearless devotion to our clients’ causes, we successfully represent individuals, businesses, and large corporations. Our experience, preparation, and aggressive representation result in the best outcomes against adversaries with greater size and resources.

Preparation is the key to victory. After a jury trial, the Judge wrote in a post-trial ruling awarding attorney fees and costs, “[Mr. Calvert’s] preparatory work could only be described as brilliant.”

Mr. Calvert’s approach to each case is to outwork the adversary – complete mastery of the facts, of the law, and particular complexities of the case. We conduct focus groups throughout our trial preparation. We recognize the bias we and our clients bring to any dispute. We conduct focus groups to make sure we can see both sides of the dispute through the eyes of unbiased individuals, like the individuals who will sit on our jury.

Experienced trial lawyers can succeed in trials involving different subject matters or industries with thorough preparation and hard work. We don’t limit our practice to niche subject matters or particular industries. Trials are our specialty, and we excel at trying all kinds of cases.

Calvert Law Firm has successfully tried and resolved major cases involving trucking accidents, medical malpractice, fraud, securities, business disputes, breach of fiduciary duty, personal injury, oil and gas, royalty owner rights, insurance coverage, insurance bad faith, accounting malpractice, attorney malpractice, dealership and franchising, and other complex disputes.

Calvert Law Firm’s trial successes include a broad spectrum of cases. Some noteworthy cases include but are not limited to:

  • $66 million Jury Verdict – Fraud and breach of fiduciary duty; Lawyers USA listed the verdict as number 6 of the “Top 10 Verdicts of 2008.”
  • $27 million Jury Verdict - Bad faith refusal to settle insurance claim
  • $8 million Jury Verdict - Bad faith refusal to settle insurance claim
  • $500,000 Punitive Damage Verdict - Bad faith denial of small insurance claim
  • $1.6 million Arbitration Award - Securities fraud
  • Jury Verdict Confirming ownership 1,500 acre royalty
  • Jury Defense Verdict - Denying $5.5 million claim for breach of contract and fraud.

Mr. Calvert has consistently held the highest peer review rating from his fellow lawyers, he has been recognized as an Oklahoma Super Lawyer for the past 16 years, he has an AV Preeminent* peer review rating through Martingale-Hubbell, and Oklahoma Magazine named him Best Attorney in Oklahoma City for multiple years.

The client should always receive more benefits than the cost of our services. We offer various types of success-based fee agreements. We do the work up-front to evaluate cases. If we are not willing to bet on a case, then we won’t ask a client to spend their money on our fees. We align our interests with our client’s interests; we can’t afford to lose, and we also can’t afford to win inefficiently. We are invested in an efficient outcome, so we are focused on winning in front of the jury, judge, or arbitrator, not fighting pointless battles. We counter the profit-driven bloat of our opponents with focus, creativity, and efficiency.
